Summer Activities for Adults

Open Yoga
Mondays 10:00-11:00 am
Tuesdays, 7:00-7:55 pm
These classes are for the beginner or anyone looking to develop a strong and safe practice. Proper alignment, breath awareness, posture and relaxation are taught. Something new is introduced every week. The class will be $6 per class on a drop-in basis. Discounts are available for multiple class purchases. All class fees are payable directly to the instructor only. Please bring a mat, towel, water and an open mind. Please consult your physician before beginning any health regime.

100th Anniversary of WWI – Donations for the Troops!
Starting in May through July, we will be accepting donations to send to our troops overseas.  In August, for the WWI 100th year Anniversary, we will send the packages through the  American Legion.  Brochures on what you can donate are available at all department desks in the library.

Hay, wood you like to clay a new board game ore watch and eat? Don’t be sheepish about it!

Library Chocolate Tasting Event and Contest
Monday, July 28
7:00-8:30 pm 
Do you want to put your best chocolate recipe to the test? 
Join others in the community as they fight to be the chocolate king or queen.
Contestants need to bring 25 bite-sized pieces of their dish.
The winner will receive a $25 gift card. Patrons will be invited in to taste the
chocolate and vote on their favorite. A free will donation will be collected at the door.
Participants must register to enter their chocolate.
You must be 18 years-old, or older, to judge.

Reptileman

Thursday, July 31

Mike Brophy, a reptile expert, will be bringing safe reptiles from around the world. This program is a fun, interactive, hands-on learning
experience for all ages.

Summer Astronomy Show
Monday, August 4
7:00-8:00 pm

Keys to learning the night sky, Summer
Will focus on the pointer stars, arc to Arcturus spike to Spica, Summer Triangle, the Dippers and 9 more.
Best Asterisms, Summer
Will feature seldom scene formations such as; Coat Hanger, ET or Owl, the Arrow, the Kite, Job’s Coffin, and 8 more.

End of Adult Summer Reading Party!
Thursday, August 14
7:00-8:30 pm

Celebrate the end of the Adult Summer Reading Program! We will wrap it up with gaming, food and the drawing of the Grand Prize winner of the Kindle Fire and other great prizes!
Need not be present to win, but we would like you to be at the party.
*This party is reserved for adults who have signed up for the Adult Summer Reading Program.
